The missionaries arrive
Lutheran missionaries land at Tharangambadi, and Schwartz gathers the first congregations of Tiruchirappalli and Thanjavur.

Villages, schools and colleges
The Gospel reaches the villages; the Methodist mission begins; the schools grow into colleges.
