The history

The story of Church of the Risen Lord

The Beginnings of the Congregation

The Church of the Risen Lord at Gandhigramam, Karur, developed as a place of Christian worship and fellowship for the local community. In its early days, worship was conducted in a thatched shelter. The congregation gathered faithfully, and as participation grew, the need for a permanent place of worship became increasingly clear.

Land Acquisition and Church Construction

A significant step towards a permanent church was taken in 2015, when a plot of 17 cents was bought at a cost of ₹32,00,000. This provided the foundation for the development of a dedicated place of worship. The congregation’s efforts reflect the shared commitment of its members to building a lasting home for worship and Christian fellowship.

Growth in Worship and Ministry

The church has continued to serve as a centre for worship, prayer and community fellowship. Its development has been supported by the service of ministers and the active participation of the congregation.

A Continuing Witness of Faith

From humble beginnings in a thatched shelter to the development of a permanent place of worship, the Church of the Risen Lord, Gandhigramam, reflects the faith and perseverance of its congregation. Its story is one of shared commitment, growth in worship and the continuing desire to serve God and the local community.
