The history

The story of Bethel Church

Bethel Church, Subramaniapuram, grew from the determination of local Christians to establish a permanent place for worship and fellowship. Its story is one of church members and leaders working together to secure land, develop the church and sustain the life of the congregation.

Land and the Beginnings of the Church

Land was purchased on 17 March 1957, with the support of the congregation, for the development of the church. It was an important step towards a stable place of worship for the community.

Development Through Shared Commitment

The church remembers the ministry of the pastors and church workers who served the congregation and helped to strengthen its spiritual life. Over the years, members contributed to the improvement of worship arrangements and church facilities. Their efforts reflected a shared commitment to giving the congregation a suitable place to gather, pray and grow in faith.

A Continuing Community of Faith

The story of Bethel Church is a testimony to perseverance, fellowship and service. The congregation’s continuing mission is to worship God, nurture Christian faith across generations and share Christ’s love with the neighbourhood.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.”
Psalm 127:1
