The story of Kolathupalayam Pastorate

“I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” — Matthew 16:18

The CSI Kolathupalayam Pastorate was established in 1989, following its separation from the Mulanur and Central congregational areas. Its formation was an important step in organising and strengthening the Christian witness in Kolathupalayam and the surrounding villages.

Historical Background

The pastorate serves a cluster of rural communities, bringing Christian families together through worship, fellowship and pastoral ministry. Its congregations are spread across nine village locations, with regular worship and prayer gatherings conducted in the area. This network of worshipping communities reflects the steady growth of the church and the commitment of local believers.

The work of the pastorate has been supported by successive pastors and church workers, and several clergy have served the congregation over the years. The pastorate’s ministry extends beyond its regular worship services: it seeks to nurture Christian faith, provide pastoral care and encourage the spiritual and social well-being of families in the villages it serves. Its continuing work reflects a commitment to education, community engagement and the welfare of people, particularly children and families.

Through the dedication of its members and ministers, the CSI Kolathupalayam Pastorate has continued to develop as a centre of Christian worship and fellowship within the Dharapuram region. Its journey since 1989 stands as a testimony to the faith and perseverance of the communities that sustain its ministry.

Continuing Mission

Today, the CSI Kolathupalayam Pastorate continues its mission through worship, prayer, pastoral care and service among the surrounding villages. With gratitude for those who laid its foundations, the pastorate remains committed to strengthening faith, building fellowship and sharing the love of Christ with the wider community.

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
